Were you aware that just walking by yourself can increase brain power. Research shows that people who walk are doing a huge service for their brains. As a person walks the blood circulates faster. There is also an increase in the amount of oxygen and glucose that the brain receives. This is one of the perks of low impact exercises, which walking definitely is.

Exercising using fast paced movements means that your body will absorb the increased glucose and oxygen and it will never actually reach the brain. The additional oxygen that goes to your brain is a great way to help you reduce levels of stress. People who enjoy walking regularly experience increased concentration and are also more receptive to learning new things.

If you have aches and pains you may be afraid to engage in such activities. However, another side benefit of walking is the release of endorphins, which the body naturally produces. This means you will have more energy than before when you walk. Those endorphins can also help to relieve various types of pain your body may have.  Here are some more tips to increase brain power.

Because walking is totally low impact, anyone and everyone can easily do it. It is the ideal activity for anyone who is wanting and needing to get more exercise. Walking also gives our brains a necessary workout to help it stay vital, alert and healthy. You can walk alone or with a friend to keep yourself motivated.

If yo have children, it’s a good idea to take them along with you on your walks. Children are never too young to work on their physical and mental well being. In fact, children that have been doing so from a young age will accept it as a part of what they need to do. As they grow into adults, they will continue the walking habits that are ingrained in them in their youth. It assures them of healthy mental abilities when they’re young as well as future adults.

It will help them to maintain healthy brain power as they age and grow. You can get them a stroller or a wagon to help keep the pace rapid until they are old enough to keep up with you. Many playgrounds also offer tracks around them where parents can walk while keeping an eye on their playing children. This is great because you get to stay active while your children are actively playing. Yet you can still keep a close eye on them while you do so.
