Essential Daily Nutrients
Our bodies are complicated chemical factories, requiring a wide range of nutrients to operate effectively. Vitamins and minerals can be supplied in many forms. These include synthetic, food, specific vitamin supplements, whole food supplements, and juices. There are an abundance of products on the market, enough to confuse just about everyone.
First, according to Dr Roger Williams, considered one of the world’s most prestigious experts on nutrition, we only require small amounts of a wide variety of nutrients to maintain health. While eating a whole head of Broccoli may seem better than an ounce of juice, the evidence is that we do not need that much good wholesome food to remain healthy and vital.
As for isolated vitamins and artificial supplements, like those found on supermarket shelves, Judith DeCava, in her book “The Real Truth about Vitamins & Antioxidants” suggests that isolated or artificial vitamins are not the same as those derived from whole food sources, because a synthetic vitamin is a false imitation. A natural product is a “complex mixture of related and similar and independent minerals”. Without all of the nutritional components, our bodies simply cannot absorb or properly process vitamins and minerals. For this reason you should only take supplements derived from whole foods!
Why Juices?
Years ago, I was introduced to Raw Vegetable Juices by Dr Norman Walker’s books. This brilliant man nearly died in the 1920’s and eventually lived a full life until he died not long after presenting a lecture at age 107. I guess you could say he proved his theories! His words really convinced me to go down my current path of detoxing and whole food supplementation using raw juices. Juicing removes the fiber from the raw material and gives you a super potent shot of vitamins and minerals. In some cases the fibrous structure of fruits and vegetables restrict the amount of nutrition we absorb into our bodies.
Compared to vitamin pills, nutrients are quickly absorbed, and you often feel the benefits immediately. I started my juicing regime with carrot juice, followed by a carrot, celery and beetroot combination. I then sued apple juice for cleansing. They tasted great! Later, due to convenience I switched to suing powdered barley grass, carrot and beetroot. You simply poured the powder into water and stirred!
You may understand why the advent of juices as a delivery system for vitamins and minerals has taken off. There are hundreds of combinations, but I my opinion, none is more potent than Essential Daily Nutrients. You get the benefits of Acai and Goji, plus Korean Ginseng, Acerola cherry, Grape See Extract, Maitake Mushrooms and 60 trace minerals. The product includes recommended daily allowance of no less than 18 different vitamins and minerals.
